I did my medical education at Stanford School of Medicine and recently completed my Internal Medicine training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

I am also a doctor, but I like to think of myself more as a health promoter and healer. Starting in high school, I worked as a NASM and CSCS-certified personal trainer and over the years have helped numerous clients work towards their health and fitness goals. I have come to appreciate that holistic well being is the foundation of success-an essential starting point for one’s cultivation of purpose, potential, and performance.

Explorations into these new dimensions of health have been prompted by personal struggles-overweight as an adolescent, burned out and depressed as a medical trainee, still a recovering perfectionist-and informed by professional experiences-interactions with patients, discussions with personal training clients, and community outreach work. This encompasses the physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and communal aspects of health. With physical fitness as my anchor point, my interest has expanded to holistic well being more broadly.

Hence the name of my practice- vitality in motion (or “ vim” for short). Physical activity has been my gateway for self-development. The values and lessons learned through athletics-discipline, commitment, and teamwork-inform how I live my life every day. I have spent the majority of my life as an athlete in the traditional sense, playing multiple competitive sports through high school and college. I am first and foremost an athlete, training for the hardest sport of all-life.
